KRKA WATERFALLS AND ŠIBENIK
With us experience the Krka waterfalls and Šibenik the city surreal beauty. Our first stop is Skradin, a small picturesque village at the entrance to the National Park. From Skradin port we’re entering the ship. Here we spend about half an hour in a comfortable ride waterfall Skradinski buk. In front of us will be opened the wonderful scenes of the lower course of the Krka, the most beautiful part of the river that kept many swans.
On the river, whose flow and catchment area declared a national park in 1985, the area is ideal for rest and relaxation. The basic phenomenon Waterfalls Are its travertine barriers, through which descend beautiful waterfalls. The most attractive and most popular waterfall is Skradinski buk. With its magnificent appearance fully justifies the title of the most famous natural beauty of the Croatian nature. At the same time, in front of the falls at Skradinski buk, there is a beautiful lagoon where you can refresh during your stay in the National Park.
The park is the habitat of 860 plant species of which are endemic species: pyramidal bellflower and Illyrian iris. Also, 221 species of birds that live here permanently or during migration, Krka rank among the most important European Bird Areas. Also, 20 fish species, of which around 10 endemic species, Krka gives the status of natural monuments of the highest category.
Krka hides and many cultural attractions, and so on 28 August 1895, opened at Skradinski buk oldest European hydro-power gully second oldest in the world. There is also an ethnic village, a complex of mills, the room with the loom, blacksmith shop, Dalmatian house, etc.
Flora and fauna, beautiful landscapes, the sounds of unspoiled nature give a sense of timeless beauty. Being a part of that, it really is a unique experience.
After visiting Krka through fifteen minutes ride we arrive in Šibenik, the town on the Adriatic coast which was founded in the 11th century Croatian place of Petar Krešimir IV. That’s why Šibenik is called “Krešimir’s city”. You will have the opportunity to see the greatest architectural achievement of the 15th and 16th centuries. On Croatian territory, extraordinarily, UNESCO-protected beauty, the Cathedral of St. James.
On our return to Split, we will briefly stop and you will be able to enjoy the wonderful views over the sea, the city of Primošten which seems to emerge from the sea. It is known for its exceptional and large vineyards, especially the indigenous grape variety from which it produces high quality wine Babic. The split comes around 17:30.
